Final 2024 Doubles Bracket

Don't forget to submit your match results!  After your game,  turn in your scorecard at the clubhouse and send a picture of the scorecard, along with any fun highlights from the round, to:

  • Bracket Style Tournament: Single elimination, winner advances, loser is out.

  • Rules: All play governed by USGA Match Play Rules. Local rules may be in effect.

  • 80% of course handicap used for scoring

  • Scoring is 2 man Low Ball/Low Total format.   Each hole is worth 2 points. 1 point for team low ball and 1 point for low team total.  Low ball or Low Total ties will be awarded ½ point

  • All players will play their previously declared tee box

  • Players are responsible for scheduling their own matches and booking tee times. They should make every effort to agree on a mutually convenient time before the deadline.

  • A deadline day will be set for each round and noted in the bracket pairings.

  • By the deadline day, a tee time will be assigned between 10 am and 2 pm (based on availability).

  • If one player doesn't show up by the tee time, the other player will win and advance to the next round.

  • If both players can't make it, a coin toss will determine who advances. 

  • Match play sudden death will start on hole #1 or #10 depending on starting hole, with handicaps on designated holes. 

  • The HH men’s club will be updated with match results.  It is up to the players to check the web site to see who they will be playing next.

  • Doubles match seeding will be based on the team average finishing position from last year’s doubles play.

    • For teams that did not play in last year’s tournament, seeding will be based on the random draw of remaining positions.

Rakes/Wagner Victorious:   Junebug Rakes and Chip Wagner closed out Mark Hardy and Mark Hubrick on 15 to advance. They will meet Sweet/Sweet in round 2.


Betz/Schrenger Move On:  Blair Betz and Greg Schrenger defeated Mike Kaelin and Chris Barrett, winning 6 & 2.  It was a neck-and-neck match thru 14th, when Betz/Schrenger took control. Greg’s par on 15 put them ahead for good with Blair delivering a dagger with an eagle on 16.  They will met Melnik/Flischel in the next round.

Lee/Depauw Victorious: John Lee and Stefan Depauw defeated Matt Casey and Dalton Hadley 7&6. While the match wasn't a showcase of top form, Stefan's clutch putts secured the win. They'll face Hagen/Young next.

Hoagland/Goins Win in Extras: Sheldon Hoagland and Casey Goins edged out Terry Ashbaugh and Logan Koch in a playoff after the match was tied on 18. They'll face Maraman/McKinney next.

Fisher/Blevins Prevail: Ed Fisher and Jim Blevins defeated Aaron Bray and Jason Luke 1 up. They'll meet Byrd/Epley in the next round.

Williamson/Hurst Advance: Chris Williamson's two chip-ins on the front nine and Ben Hurst's excellent play led them to a 3&2 victory over Shane Davis and Scott Squires. They'll meet Masden/Bass in the next round.

Stopher/Thomas Dominate:    Dewayne Stopher and Danny Thomas thrashed Dave French and Leo Coakley 9&8 to move on to round 3.  

Maraman/McKinney Move On:   Brian Maraman and Chris McKinney bested Casey Goins and Sheldon Hoagland 2 up in a roller coaster match.  Brian's birdie on the last was the difference.   They meet the Sweet brothers in round 3.

Sweet Brothers Prevail:   Steve and Jeff Sweet took down Chip Wagner and Junebug Rakes 3&2 on the strength of Steve's timely putting.   They meet Maraman/McKinney in the next round.

Stopher/Thomas Roar Back:  Down 9 at the turn, Danny Thomas and Dewayne Stopher rallied to defeat Dan Kremzar and Dave Lichtefeld 1 up on the final hole. They face Dave French/ Leo Coakley next.

Denham/Dewilde Win:   Vernon Denham and Dave Dewilde held off a late charge by Beau Johnson and Deon Hoskins. Vernon and Dave both birdied the 17th to seal the deal 3&2.

Masden/Bass best Williamson/Hurst:   Pat Masden and Mike Bass limped to victory over Chris Williamson and Ben Hurst after taking a commanding lead thru 12.  Needing 1 point to win after 13,  the match was closed out on 17 with a Mike Bass birdie.   Masden/Bass will meet Stopher/Thomas in round 3.

Betz/Schrenger Advance:  Blair Betz and Greg Schrenger defeated Gary Melnik and Jim Flischel 6&1.   The match was back and forth through 12 when Betz/Schrenger steadily distanced themselves.  Blair played particularly well carding a 75.    They will meet the Dewilde/Denham team in round 3.

Hagen/Young vanquish Depauw/Lee:    Eric Hagen and Tony Young took down John Lee and Stephan Depauw 3&2.  Hagen led the team with a nice 67.  They will meet Byrd/Epley next.

Byrd/Epley eliminate Fisher/Blevins:   Tim Byrd and Tom Epley defeated Ed Fisher and Jim Blevins.   They will meet Hagen/Young next.

Sweets swamp Maraman/McKinney:   Jeff and Steve Sweet took out Chris McKinney and Brian Maraman 5&4 on a solid 76 from Jeff. They are the first team to advance to round 4.


Masden/Bass Prevail in Playoff.   Pat Masden and Mike Bass defeated Danny Thomas and Dewayne Stopher in a great match.   Extra play was required with Pat and Mike prevailing on hole 1.   Mike shot a solid 74 to anchor the team.   They will meet the Sweet brothers in the semi's.   The trash talk is already flying !


Schrenger/Betz take down Denham/Dewilde:    Greg Schrenger and Blair Betz continue their run with another lopsided victory besting Dave Dewilde and Vernon Denham.  The match was closed out on 14 with Blair scoring a net eagle.   Greg and Blair advance to the semifinal round.
